THE MYTH OF THE AMERICAN SLEEPOVER

I'm one of a privileged few who've seen early cuts of David Robert Mitchell's debut feature, THE MYTH OF THE AMERICAN SLEEPOVER, and I'm so proud of my friend, former Florida State University Graduate Film School classmate, and fellow Michigander's accomplishment.

While our Michigan backgrounds are so different that we may as well have been raised in different states, (Mitchell is from the suburbs of Detroit, while I was raised in rural farm country) there's an authenticity to the film that extends to everyone and connects to the human experience we've all had adolescent moments that stick with you for the rest of your life.

It's getting great reviews so far, and I wish the filmmakers all the very best.
